...if you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
then shall your light rise in the darkness
and your gloom be as the noonday.

This is Ms. Lhai Kho Neng, a widow who has been waiting since last year to come and live at the New Pathway Home. She is currently homeless and is moving from house to house, staying with whoever she can for a few days at a time. She recently came by the NPH to talk to our staff. She told them that “she has been waiting so long and can't wait as she is having so many problem for her living.”

The New Pathway Home for Widows is the first residential home for elderly widows in northwest Myanmar.

It was established in December 2017 and now provides a safe, loving, and healthy environment for twelve widows, all of whom previously suffered in extreme poverty and hopelessness.

Click here to read more about the New Pathway Home, how and why it started, and more.

We are now constructing a second floor on the home in order to make room for even more widows, including younger widows who still have dependent children.

The construction is nearly complete, but we still need help to finish, and we also need help to furnish the second floor bedrooms with beds, mattresses, desks, chairs, mosquito nets, blankets, pillows, and other daily necessities. Will you help provide a home for these poor widows in desperate need?

2/7/2020 UPDATE: We have now received enough funds to complete the construction! Praise God! Thank you to everyone who donated towards this wonderful and very important project.

Students from Hope Theological Seminary in Tamu are helping us save money on construction costs by doing some plastering and painting. They are led by one of our former Hope Boarding School volunteers, Mr. Nga Ngam (upper right on the scaffolding).
